Alcoholics Anonymous:
Is a fellowship of men and women who share their
experience, strength and hope with each other so that
they may solve their common problems and help others.
The primary purpose is to stay sober and help others
achieve sobriety. The only requirement for AA membership

Phoenix House:
Is a long term residential substance abuse
treatment program for males. Phoenix House also offers
Outpatient substance abuse treatment at its Calumet
location. Phoenix House also operates a Domestic Abuse
Intervention Project Group for batterers, based on the
Duluth Model, at its Calumet location. All of the
programs offered by Phoenix House are available to

Substance Abuse Prevention and
Education:
The Institute is involved in a variety of prevention and
education initiatives directed at preventing substance
abuse. Initiatives include parent education, teen social
skill development, asset building and enhancing
community coalitions to prevent underage drinking.
Additionally, education is provided directed at adults
and older adults to provide resources and information
concerning depression, anxiety, medication usage and
other issues related to substance use. For more
