What is Community
Integration?
Community integration
services are designed to help people optimize their
personal, social, and vocational ability to live
successfully within the community. Part of the planning
process will help to identify areas in which VSI might
help the individual improve his skill sets in each of
these categories. Also, while involved in this program
the individual will have the opportunity to explore
social and recreational activities and gain exposure to
many areas of self-enrichment. Some training areas
specific to Community Integration training includes:

What is Community
Employment?
Community Employment Services assist individuals in
choosing, obtaining, and retaining integrated employment
in the community. VSI offers services that may be
described as Assessment, Job Development, Job Coaching,
and Job Supports or Follow-along. This may include
prevocational assessments, contract employment,
temporary employment, competitive employment, supportive
employment, transitional employment, mobile work crews,
and enclave work crews to name a few.

Employment?
VSI's organizational employment services provide
individuals with an opportunity to engage in paid
employment while performing work for VSI. Employment may
include:
- Enclave custodial
- Grounds maintenance
- Mobile work crews
- Contract piece work
- Custodial service
- Work Shop Production
What is Vocational
Skill Development?
Vocational skill development helps individuals identify
and understand the employee characteristics that are
required to secure and maintain competitive
employment-both in a supported environment as well as
within integrated employment settings. VSI addresses
several areas of skill development that will help the
individual refine and improve his work ethic, quality of
work, and overall job performance. Some areas of skill
development include:
