Population Served |

VSI's purpose is to help
individuals overcome barriers to long-term employment
and help them achieve their vocational goals. VSI
provides training and supported employment services to
people who may be challenged by a barrier caused by a
mental, physical, and/or emotional disabilities or
impairments.

Persons being referred to VSI for training
should meet the following criteria: |

|
|
 |
Adolescents and
adults who have reached the minimum age of 16
years |
 |
 |
 |
Have a diagnosed
disability (developmental disability, learning
disability, physical disability, mental illness,
or emotional impairment) which is supported by
either a medical or psychological report that
has been signed by a physician within the past
12 months |
 |
 |
 |
Persons referred
through Michigan Rehabilitation Services,
Michigan Works! Service Centers, Community
Mental Health Agencies, Intermediate School
Districts, Court Orders, Michigan Family
Independence Agency |
 |
 |
 |
Private
referrals through parents, guardians, or
relatives of persons with disabilities |
 |
 |
